Pokerstars Baltic Festival coming to an end

So I was playing day 2 in the main event and we were 107 players left. i got +50% above the avrage stack. Very early on I got a raise and a reraise in front of me when I found two aces in my hand. I then got a ~70k and was feeling very healthy. Then I turned cold for a while before I got pocket Jacks after a short stack went all-in. I called and faced AK off. On the flop a K came and I was 20k down. Soon after I lost another 16k with pocket 10′s against KK. After that it took me more than an hour befor I got KK. I pushed all of my 17k and got called by AK. The f-ing A came on the river. That was that…..my main event was over, 58th place out of 307.

Oh yeah, on three diffrent tables I was sitting with Matias Knaapinen from Finland. We sat next to each other for 9 hours…..

On saturday (today), we were standing and railing the last 17 players in the main event and I decided to play the side event when it had been going for 20 min. The buy-in was 440€ and there were 86 players. And guess what??? Iwon…..154 540 Estonian krona ( 10 000€). I was shot stacked the whole tournament until we were on the final table. I just dominated the table…..it feelt fantastic.

Now it’s bed time. I’m very tired and satisfied.

Day 1b is over

So my first day in my first “mayor” tournament is over and I’m very satisfied. Came out on 11th place chip wise out of 177 players. Day 2 (today) will have a starting field of ~125 players.

It felt pretty solid the whole day except from a couple of hours when I got card dead. I was above avrage chip stack most of the day but my stack was decreasing when I got QQ on the button with 5 limpers. I 6 bettted (to 1200) and was getting reraised back from the small blind…… think…… think……call. Flop J74 rainbow. He bets half pot and again….. think….. think…… fold. The next hand I played the only A-rag hand of the day, A9 clubs. I called a utg 3 bet from a tight player. Flop J74 and yes all clubs. The utg guy bets and I push, instant call, he shows AA and I doubbled up. Shaaaading!

Thn I was moved to a new table…Mats Sundin’s table. The second hand I look down at AA and I reraise a 3-bet (1200), I reriase to 3200 and Mats flat calls. Flop is J high and I push as Mats only got ~6k left. He instant calls with QQ and he is busted. Sorry Mats!

Good morning from Tallinn

Just came back from a great breakfast at Swissotel. The rooms are fantastic and we even got our own expresso machine. Yesterday we went directly and played the super satellite to get a ticket to main for Johan. Unfortunally Johan busted early and I was totally card dead although I regret pushing with AT off when the blinds were 200/400 and I had 4300 chips left. Instead I was forced to push with QT suited utg and went against AJ who won with high card.

Anyway, today is the main event and there are min. 200 players. Johan decided to buy a ticket and now he is a happy camper. We got a full bag (full tilt from Pokerstars????) with clothing etc. 1 sportsjacket, 1 shirt, another shirt, 1 t-shirt, one more t-shirt and even one more t-shirt, 2 hats, 1 usb memory card, 1 chip protector and a OGIO sports bag. How can I come back to Stockholm and say that I didn’t win anything?

Today all the pro’s are playing, Lodden, Tony G, Eastgate etc.. Later!

What can you do to prepare for a “mayor” tournamnet? I dont know because I haven’t been in one before. But I can guess as follows:

- Practice (and I tried on Sunday and Monday without any results) but my statistics the last month is pretty darn good. Came 7th out of 175 people~5 weeks ago, 6th out of 90 people 2,5 weks ago, 1st last thursday and winning the package to Pokerstars Baltic Adventure an 1 st last Saturday in a rebuy at Krukan.

- Sleep = well rested. Well the last few months I haven’t been able to sleep more than 7 hours so if that’s the what’s needed then I’m well rested.

- Lycky shoes. This morning as I packed I “decided” that I got a pair of lucky shoes (white Nike’s). And now I feel lucky that I got my lucky shoes.

Let’s hope all of this is what it takes to put myself in a good position and knock out Tony G.

Well the “practice” yesterday at Krukan didn’t go as planed. We were 86 people starting and I got really good cards…..again. But it didn’t flop well for me so my starting stack of 20k decreased slowly and steady. Had 6K when the blinds wewre 400/800 and got 33. Went all-in with 2 limpers and got called by AQ off. And yes the A came on the river. Bust in ~50th place.

So now the flight is booked. Leaving Stockholm on Wednesday for Tallinn and Swissotel. I’m very excited as it’s my first “big” tournament. I’m playing day 1b and the starting field is around 400 players. My friend Johan is tagging along and we are gonna play the satellite on Wednesday evening and try to grab a ticket for Johan as well. I’m also going to use www.blogskull.com as a news feed about whats happening. Tonight it’s “practice” time at Krukan in Stockholm. A 1100 Sek freeze out, 80 players.
